Hey everyone,

Wanting a bottom end that can handle 1000-1200hp with compound turbos on 6.7. I could do the work myself(minus the machining). I currently have a 5.9 in the truck so i would have to eat a core cost or source a 6.7 to build.

Truck is a 07 megacab, heres the plan for the other parts of the build

Transmission: firepunk comp3
Cp3: Exergy 14mm
fass: 240gph
traction bars
mishimoto intercooler
griffin radiator with efans
fluidampner
sticks - likely 200% or 250% overs
Turbos: s400 side by side with either a 467/480 or 472/485

I believe i should stick with a cast piston as the truck is driven on the street/daily driven(<5k miles a year).

really have two trains of thought going on :

Build it myself ~ what parts do i need/machine work would i generally need?

Heres the rough list i came up with:

Wagler rods street fighters
narrow bowl vs wide bowl pistons?
Balanced/micro polish crank
.20 over on the bore? ~ assuming if i go over this, ill start getting into sketchy **** with cylinder walls at that level
How much head work is really needed? Should shelf stay on?
not sure about oil clearances that i would want - im assuming a bit looser
piston rings - unsure of gap that should be ran
Not sure about girdle or 14mm main studs
Cam - not sure which to go with
Valve springs/pushrod - already have hamilton 103s and pushrods
got 625's
50/50 fire ring

Have a shop build it for me or buy a long block - these seem on the higher end of cost ~ 20-25k after considering shipping/core charge

Reached out to

WOT - hard to get ahold of - cant get return calls ~ doesnt seem like a good starting place so far - but i have heard good things about them
Industrial injection
Josh Mccormick(horsetorque diesels)
D&J precision
powerdriven diesel

Any input is appreciated - this has been a long time dream of mine since i got into diesels back in 2010 ~ just got a bit more toy money nowdays.

Looks like a solid plan. The shops you listed have lots of experience on this exact scenario.

I was told re-entrant(small) run a bit better on the street.

Why not go for an s467-s485? Or s488.

Keep us posted on the progress.

just going off the turbo setup for what was recommended by WC fab - nothing air wise has been locked in yet.
