i tow heavy lods once in a blue moon, so with that inmind I want to upgrade my turbo. I want something that spools quick, and has good power, but that i can tow nicely with and not get hot when towing, I'm wanting a single turbo. I was told the hx40 w/ 16 back housing would be nice but i feel as if though the 16 would be laggy. what should i be looking for or should i do a hybrid hx35 with a 60-62 wheel and go to a 14 in the rear. what do you guys think. also my injectors are supposedly 100 hp but i feel as if they are way bigger, right now i have to run the comp on 5x3 or it will choke up and not go anywhere. hope this helps just trying to get a clue on what i should go with.

If you still have the stock turbo on there it's getting to much fuel on the higher levels, that's why it just bogs. The 16 housing should be a good size, if you only tow once in a blue moon build the truck without towing in mind, just remember to turn the wick down a bit when you hook up.

well i tow but nothing major 3,000lb boat trailer combo, and an oper car trailer with a 3,000lb mustang thats it, and everyonce in a while my dad's cigarette boat weighs 10,800lbs and his trailer is a triple axle aluminum. but other than that nothing but an empty bed. would the hx40 clear all my smoke or should i be looking at getting something bigger.

It should clear a good bit of it, with the Comp on 3x3 it should run pretty clean and keep the EGT's in check.

but what about at wot. i would like a turbo that would clear the smoke on 5x5 with what i have and tow nice.

how would spool up be with the hx40 6blade with the 16 housing. would it spool quick or will it be lazy.
