HELP!

Driving my 2004 CTD (pulling my racecars trailer) down the freeway today and it developed a SERIOUS "rattle". No smoke or noticable loss in power as far as I can tell. Water temp, oil temp, trans temp, boost - all normal.

It sounds like a gas motor when a rod lets go :doh:
Its pretty damn loud.

One thing I did notice was EGTS dropped a few hunder degrees.

Any ideas?

I am sorry but I have no idea what that would sound like.
What is an FCA?

May have had the plastic piece on the valve train rocker break..... Losing tension on valve...losing the pedistal off the valves... push tube just flopping..

Rod bearing maybe...

Valve seat come lose / dropped...


Just a few ideas...

Seems about the same.

Oil level is good and nothing odd or semlly on the dipstick.
