Name: Josh
Location: Lexington, KY area
Age: 26
Truck: 99 Ram 2500 4x4 auto
Experience with diesels: NONE.
Hi everyone, just wanted to introduce myself. I'm a former Marine who is now an auditor (Its easy, and it pays for the toys. Not the most respected, but hey, someone has to do it). Went to school in San Diego after my Active duty. Going to UK for my MBA this summer
I have a long term gf (Kristy) and we have a pitbull (Bruce) we adopted from the humane society. I just recently purchased my first house, and my first diesel outside of a quick flip F250 that went horribly wrong. My hobby is rock crawling. I have been teaching myself how to do metal fabrication thanks to the interweb, and I am ok. Still a whole lot left to learn. I have 6 vehicles, 4 trucks, a suv, and a car. Ol lady drives the car.
Truck has some work done to it, but i have no idea what. In the picture below, you can see it has an aftermarket/homebrew intake and a pair of optimas. It has either been lifted slightly, or a leveling kit. The exhaust is dumped right behind the cab, which i hate, so that will change. The only other mod I know of for sure is a mechanical fuel pressure gauge on the steering column. It was extremely clean inside and out, and the price was reflectant of that. I did get a warrantee, but it doesn't cover electrical or the injection pump. These are the areas I will likely be using the site for the most.
Without further ado, here is the newest member of the family, Billie
a buddy of mine came over and he went through everything on the truck. Here is the list of mods he informed me of:
* Aftermarket head studs (They look like grade 8 bolts to me)
* Airdog II
* Dipricol fuel pressure gauge
* Factory lift pump delete
* TS Performance chip
* Unknown stainless exhaust
* Rebuilt front suspension
* Adjust front control Arms
* The transmission is not stock. There are no markings we could see, but it shifts like a effing punch to the chest when under load.
* The head, valve cover, intake, and exhaust manifold gaskets have all been replaced.
He said that the rear suspension has overloads. He called it "Camper Special", but i dunno if that is even a real thing in the newer trucks. I know they made them back in the day, but I thought those type packages were long gone.
