Hey guys,
I started my truck today after a pretty cold night - about 8*F outside. It was around 14*F when I fired it up. It started like usual except for the longer grid heater duration. I was walking back up to my apt and I heard the high idle (with 3 cyl cutout) starting to "kick in" as expected. I waited and listened for it to get up to around 1200 RPM and it started to do some spitting and sputtering. It has gone into the 1200 RPM idle before, and it did not have this kind of reaction. I took a short video - picture quality is not the best, but the sound does a good job at representing what happened. Is this normal with it being so cold? I didn't have the block heater plugged in, and the fuel was treated. Any ideas?
I took a video the second time it did it:
