Hitch Protrusion vs Sled Stops

Most associations say that your hitch must be the rearmost object on the truck..

That said, do sled stops count as well? Or do they need to be recessed a hair closer to the truck than the hitch is?
 
My sled bumpers stick out farther than my hitch and never had any issues.
 
I do not think bumpers count. As long as you your hitch sticks past the back of the bed I would think you would be fine. I was told that if you back up to a wall that is square to the ground and to the center line if your truck that the hitch must be the first thing that hits not counting sled bumpers.

think about it, there called sled stops, and not hitch stop Mine are 1.5 inch past my hitch

I understand that, but we are changing the hitch setups on 2 trucks for 4 different associations. We just want to make sure no one is going to have a problem with it. I know DHRA and BTPA doesn't.

Besides Joey...you seem to get away with more than the rest of us!! :poke:
