hold downs breaking

ok im not sure how it keeps happening but ive broken 3 injectors hold downs now. i always find one when i have the valve cover off for a different reason. never runs funny or anything. i have tourqued them down to the right specs every time. keeps happening. anyone else ever have this? its a 98.5 truck and was only ever making 515 at the most on the dyno

What specs are you torquing too? Isn't it 96 inch/lbs?

I've broken a few too. I thot it had to do with over tightening them??
Someone makes billet ones, not??

Your breaking the hold down itself or the hold down bolt?? I have no idea how you could break a hold down...


I broke a hold down bolt at 3 am once... needed the truck later that day too. Was an expensive bolt... $75 for the 24 hour Cummins truck and $1.30 for the bolt. :hehe:

forget what i torqued them to. it was whatever my chilton book said. but its got me stumped

I never once used a torque wrench on mine and never managed to bust one. You sure your not doing 89ftlbs?
