Anyone have pics of hood stacks and how they ran them out of the hood? (routing, hole in hood, etc.) am going to make one for my truck just looking for ideas. Thanks guys.

Have you tried the search feature? there should be plenty of reading/pictures here already.

Ask Bosshawg600 we did his third one in like 2-3 hours. Plus if you give me your email I'll send you the pics i have.

Heres mine. Goes from a 4 inch to a upward 5in. Took a few hrs and a 50ft roll of header wrap.

Lynn, what did you use for a tip? And did it discolor the hood when you tacked it on there?

Mine is Identical to Lynn's. Its is by far the BEST way to do a hoodstack.... took me 3 versions before i figured that out!!!!

Thanks Dale!!!

The tip is a piece or 6" stack. The 5" turn up under the hood goes inside the hood stack about 1.5" when closed. We only tack welded the stack to the hood framing. Did it slow so it wouldn't discolor the top of the hood. Everything was done after the truck was painted. Had to move the ECM over to the side of the fender for clearance. That and his truck cam factory with out A/C so we didn't have to worry about the A/C components mounted on the firewall.

And also to add to what bragg said, If you will look close we have the stack tack welded to the cross brace in the hood,( I just saw that he mentioned that...) not the actual sheet metal. It WILL still give a little in the case of torque taking a toll on the mounts. And we did figure out that if you used a 5 inch stack with a 6 inch hole and made the stack 11 inches tall, you will be able to raise the hood without it hitting. That is if it is in the same place as mine.

Lynn's stack raises out of the hood just a little but like this one on BBD1.

We used 5" on the gambler that is all we had laying around at the moment. We didn't attatch the stack to the hood because the body moves to much on somtimes.

Smokin1997 I'm viewing from my BB so its a small screen but it looks like your A/C lines are still in place? I thought you had to remove the lines in order to clear a 4" 90* bend in there?

i have no a/c or heater in the truck and i had to put the ecm in the cowl. i took all of that out this last spring. that is the only way it will clear though.

Here some pics of mine. This is just a temporary for now. Im gonna rig up a nice setup once i get the twins one.

Hood opens perfectly without taking the tip off too!

AC is all intact. The piping is all wrapped and works great!
