well my injection pump is shot and looking for opinions on a stock and hot rod vp44. I do pull heavy loads from time to time and how is the hot rod with pulling trailers and such? and anyone know what kinda warranty they have and are they good with a stock turbo i am going to get a bigger one sometime whats everyones thought?

I would get a stock VP... the hot rod will have a lope and will not make more peak HP then the stock on anyway... just look at all the top HP VP trucks, 80% still run the standard VP

Get the SO. With a wire tap box your gonna make the same power with either pump so you might as well save the $600+ and put it towards injectors or a turbo. If you didn't have a wire tap box and wouldn't mind the lopey idle the HRVP's come with, I'd say get that cause then it'll add power.

what is the SO? the lopey idle would be cool and all but my god the price of those things is nuts

I'm running a HRVP and it never lopes. Either one SO or HR VP's will have a one year warrenty but tapping the wire will void it. I would recommend the HR to someone who's not interested in taping the wire and would like some added umphhh. Since you already have the Edge w/Att, I would stick with a SO and still use what you got.

SO= Standard Output, it's the pump on automatics and 5 speed trucks.
HO=High Output, and there only on the 6 speed trucks.

Correct, unless you still want some above stock performance while having the box disconnected or turned off?

i run the Blue Chip Special X pump it has a lope and runs real well......my millage is up at 19.4 MPG on the last tank 60% city 40% Hwy

how big of injectors can a guy run on a stock pump i was told about 100hp is the most thats what i got

im running 240's I know alot of guys running beetween 150-240 on a so pump

I had a HRVP with 275rv's, drag box and an HX35. I lef the box off for runnig around town, off most of the time towing too. EGT's were fine, pulled 7k up a grade at 90 no problem. Mine had a slight lope, more of a chop really. I would put one on if yours goes out. Dont tap the wire, and ride the warrenty out. Then tap it.

i run a hrvp. i tow a 10k trailer just about every weekend and have no issues. it does lope good at idle and even very light throttle. my egt's usually run between 800-900 empty and 900-1100 loaded, depends on hills, etc. i want 150hp injectors but i think with my turbo it will run way too hot. need twins!!!

Look at his SIG guys he already has a SO truck. 2001 AUTO = SO truck.

Me I would get a stock pump and put back into it. You have 100hp injectors IMO go with a larger turbo such as a 62/13 or 14. You have a good streetable/ towing combo , more air would fit the bill.

SO pump here. I had the HRVP and the lope drove me nuts. Changed it out for a SO and Mach 4's and never looked back. I did loose some bottom end HP going from the HRVP to the SO but gained way more on the dyno at the higher RPM's. Just don't want to see you spend the extra money and have the HRVP lope drive ya nuts!!!:kick:

stock pump is on order as much as the lope would be cool i think it would drive me nuts thanks all for your input

I've ran a Scheid HRVP for many years now (80,000mi), Never had a problem with reliability. It will lope depending on injector/Connector tube/line combination however, My current set up does not lope at all, and sounds like a stock truck.

when the new one wears out or dies its going to get a p-pump and come a full time puller lol
