My friends 99 24v has edge juice and a banks big head waste gate. This rig is only building 20lbs of boost regardless of what program he sets the edge on. my question is how can we get more boost? can we make any adjustments to the waste gate to get it?

I dont know crap about the big head but Id take it off. When my old truck had just the edge comp it was boosting at like 32 with the stock setup.

does that edge come with a boost fooler i was only geting around 23psi then i add a boost fooler and now i am pulling around 45 psi

OUCH!! 23psi with twins is pretty bad, good that you got that up!

Check for a little brass elbow with a hose clamp on the line running from the wastegate, if there is not one there gimme a shout, I think I have an extra one laying around somewhere. That's the boost elbow to fool the wastegate into more boost, without it the wastegate is going to maintain 20ish PSI all day long.

Billysgoat, We didnt see any brass elbow on the waste gate. is this what we need? how does this work. If it makes a difference we plugged the line comming from the compressor side of the turbo and still only 20 lbs of boost. let me know if you have any more insight .

The little brass elbow is on the front of the turbo, it should have a 3/8" size hose or so on it. Most diesel shope have upgraded elbows, or you can pinch of the tube with a set of vice grips, but this usually only gives you a few extra pounds of boost. But as stated in an earlier post a stock set up should be throwing down around 30 so you may have other issues.

Ok, the lack of the brass elbow tells me there is not a boost elbow in the system, lemme get a look at Todd's truck before I tell you anymore lies, the manual trucks have a different setup than the auto's. What the brass elbow does is meter the boost to the wastegate to get boost levels over 20PSI (Stock rating), you can wire the wastegate and see what happens, I don't think closing the line off will work that well.

To wire the wastegate, take a piece of wire, open wastegate all the way and tie off the actuator arm so it can't move, you can do this to an auto equipped truck, but not to a stick.

how much fuel are the turbos geting i know thats my big problem i have a new aux fuel pump but i havnt put it on yet

Sounds like the Banks waste gate is the problem, you might be able to adjust it for more boost. Shorted the rod to up the boost. The Edge juice should have a boost fooler built into it. If the Edge is plugged into the MAP sensor the it has a boost fooler. You should have no problem making 30 psi of boost. You may also have a boost leak, check all the intercooler clamps and boots. How high is the EGT's?, Do you have lots of black smoke once the turbo spools up?

we figured it out. one of the boots was blown off and came out of the clamp about 20%. we loosened the clamp put the boot back on and now we hit 32psi. needless to say my friend was happy but when we went to take it on a test run we blew the spider gears int he spicer 70 dana. 250 dollars later and a couple hrs she was back running then we heard some weird noises so we disconnected the drive line and it was comming from the gears. the ring was nicked in a couple places from the previous problem so some grinding got her done. but now my ford is making a weird vibration type noise when she's about to shift. I put her back stock and still persists. we'll get on top of that one here soon. I think its tranny but the tranny is strong, no slipping at all but before she shifts at high rpms she sends a vibration throught the floorboard. Ill keep you posted
