I know this has been asked before, but I did a search on here and couldn't find anything to help. I have a 5" turbo back Magnaflow system. I thought the Hushpower would be the fix, a friend of mine has the same system and he installed the Hushpower last week. He says it made it a little better but the drone is still very loud. I have read that everyone says the Hushpower takes away the drone. Maybe on the 4" but not on our 5". I have heard that if I add another straight through muffler in line that will fix it ?? Will this work or what ???? Any help would be great.

Hushpower took away the drone on my 5". I've heard donaldson mufflers are pretty good at killing drone.

Wally @ FTE has an interesting 5" straight though that does some funky stuff and claims it removes the drone. $89 for the piece.

I'm pondering of buying a few things from him this week and the muffler may be one of them. I have an expandit 5" and I'm very happy with the quality of it, I'm still working on some hanger issues but other then that it's sound hasn't changes being straight piped and all ;-)

Something that I've noticed, the drone has a lot to do with where the tail pipe stops or the angle it comes out. If it's not past the bumper, the bumper catches some of the exhaust noise and creates a drone in the cab.

Put an Aeroturbine 5050XL right directly in front of the Magnaflow muffler. I've also heard that putting the aforementioned 5050XL Right where the downpipe meets the intermediate pipe will kill the drone too.

yeap.. big time where it will bounce off things and echo around..

Dumping the exhaust straight down either before or after the rear axle will also help with killing drone.

i put a resignator in front of my muffler and it helped a good bit, i would have moved it farther foward but i have dpf delete and there are some bungs in the way for some sensors,89$ from walley fte performance

I have a 5" turbo back Magnaflow system, not only does it have a bad drone but is loud as hell inside the cab of the truck at 2000 RPM's,so I installed a HushPower muffler,I would say some of the drone is gone but it is still loud inside the cab at 2000 RPM's,just want it to be quieter.

the 51" donaldsons are QUIET, drone free, almost stock sounding until you get on it. and they are like $60-70
