How do you know if pintle lift has been added?

As the title asks. Is there a "stock" length of the pintle to compare to or are there signs that they have been modified, e.g. look for flattening of the tip of the pintle? Any help is appreciated.
 
Weston - thanks for PM I'll try that. Wanted to post besides to see what discussion there is on this.

I've seen some other style injectors that actually have a flat spot on the side of the end of the pintle (Bosch technical manual). Has anyone tried this with 12 valve injectors or does this result in too much flow and too much detrimental volume at the tip of the injector and they just dribble rather than atomize?
