How does a D70hd compare to a D80?

So how do you guys think a D70 HD compares to a D80? Is a anyone running the D70 HD with alot of power?

Probably running them, But not with a dirt anchor behind them.

They hold up well for drag racing, but not sled pulling.

The HD's are stout, bigger everything really except for the ring gear, and 35 spline axles, granted the 80 will be stronger, but if I was going to run a 70 the HD is the only way to go, but you'd still be better off w/ a 14bolt if the gear ratio's allow, do to the pinion support.

It's ok now. It measured to be a 11.25" ring gear, so it is a D80.

IIRC Dana 80 is 11.50.

No. not acording to this. Dana Spicer D80 - 10 bolt rear cover with 11.25 ring gear. Could have 35 or 37 spline axles. Later model fords use different pinion bearings than all other models.
