After looking at the other thread. It brought up a question I had always wondered about. How many times can you install to full torque and remove them before its time for new ones. In my street truck I let them go a bit longer. But usually once I've had the head on and off 4 or 5 times. I replace the studs. What do you guys think?

I'd say it has to do partly with the amount a stud has stretched during that time.

Contact Haisley or ARP. I think they would have some tolerances to go by.

Well I have brand new sets in the truck that have never been removed. I was just curious and have never asked. Dan I thought you had all the answers man?

I have retorqed mine several times. The thing to look for would be stretch, and there could be a minimum diameter, but if that occurs at the threads it might be hard to find.

Studs will weaken due to contact with water long before they will fail due to stretching. Replace any that have rust on them and you should be good to go.
