How many people have broke an NV5600. We broke the rear output in the trans and I am woundering if this is a common problem??

Kaleb barret and I broke ours the within a week of each other. Mine I destroyed a gear and the input shaft. for kaleb it was an input

mine was not bouncing. I tore the gear up at an indoor pull and the input was broke on the road

output shaft

I tore one up 3 weeks ago at a test and tune in wisconsin I did not bounce but the truck was lunging pretty good though.

that is exactly what mine did. It broke off right at the last 4'' of the splines and was stuck in the t-case. turns out the 6 speed are not easy to fix.

I found a place in keeler wisconsin that was able to get me a new output shaft. They do not make a billet replacement. I just went with brand new stock one.

Broke my output! Sure was loud when it went. I rebuilt mine myself in the garage. Sure is one heavy SOB to do yourself! I got a new output shaft and bearing set. Only changed the upper bearings due to time but now I wish that I have put them all in. Probably going to tear it all down again and rebuild it again. There are some place to get parts. I got mine from a Transmission Parts - wholesale transmission - All Transmission in Portland, OR or there is a place in Las Vegas that has a lot of parts too

Did you have to have any special tools to tear down your trans or just basic stuff. I have been wanting to rebuild mine but I figured it wasn't near as easy as a nv4500. Sorry to get off track here.
Thanks Eddie

If anyone gets tired of fixing their 6 speed, I am tired of fixing my nv4500. Trade problems? LOL

knockin on wood i havent torn anything up however my dads truck that he bought not to long ago The orginal owner was going down the interstate the trans locked up doin 80mph and he had a shovel in the back it came thru the back glass cut his ear and stuck in the dash also flatted al four tires

ripped 6th gear apart same night i put my new 74mm turbo on but i dont think they had anything to do with each other.:hehe:

Next trans will be a 47rh manual valve body to pretend I still have a stick. I've been thinking long and hard on this. :) Just curious how I could mate my shifter to floor shifter... hmmmmm.. where to put the switches for OD and lockup?... hmmmmm...

i didn't use any special tools all though it sure would have been nice when going back together. The hardest part was keeping the sift forks and everything lined up when installing the other case halve. I think that they make a special plate that holds both shafts and everything then you lift the case off cause it was a struggle to lower 2 heavy shafts at the same time into the case
