How much boost on mls gasket??

When you see oil floating under the radiator cap, back off the waste gate 5psi!

I ran about may be more 70psi and studs on my stock mls gasket before she popped

It's not always a good thing to wait until they pop. Sometimes they take a little of the head out with them.

WOW, havent seen one that bad, what were the symptoms running like that? Have heard of a few that popped it there and ran it quite a while, ran fairly normal.

I'm up there too, 625's - stock mls. Combustion pressure was high enough to bend all the rods this winter and the gasket was perfect.

Heard that I even pulled mine off and studed it then installed the new mls and it lasted 6months and then I just fire ringed it

How about any re-torques on the mls, I know they say you don't need to, but after hot cycles I find they'll drop 10ft pounds at least.

And that sure is a sharp lookin truck, got any bigger photo's? I'm hunting for wheels.

That happened at wide open throttle. It was pulling hard until I got out of it, then it was only running on 4 cylinders. Drove it home like that not knowing what had happened, and that was what I found. :bang

I did that but to the block between 3 and 4. 50psi stock bolts 64mm turbo, smarty, and TST. Mine missed a little, but ran pretty good still.

I've heard that heat is the big killer with MLS gasket and harry at peak diesel thinks that 625's and a MLS is as good as o-ring as long as the egt's don't get out of hand.

ive hit 60 psi n on stock bolts for a while now i hit 60 psi with arp 625 studs in i can still get my egt up to 1500 with silver 64.

Mine lasted a long time (67k) upwards of 87 psi with ARP 2000's torqued to 135.

Now...orings and 625's.

What does one think "out of hand" is?

harry said below 1350, I know that is low to some but piers thinks the same way when I talked to him about head gasket and studs, and they both told me if you hit 1350egt's and want more hp go to a bigger turbo, but thats just what they told me. ( each to there own). :Cheer:
