How to settle my truck down when leaving the line

I've been on a couple of tracks lately that are difficult for me to take off without bouncing. I was pulling two different sleds. Running STS tires and tried leaving at different RPMs and riding the clutch a little longer. The auto tranny trucks don't have this problem. A lot of the gas trucks were fighting this too.

The guys will probably need to know your suspension setup to give you any kind of worthwhile advice.

Stock suspension on front and rear with blocks and traction bars on the rear. Receiver style hitch.

60 psi in rear. I have some weights on a bracket in the box. According to the rules, we cannot have a weight bracket out front and any additional weight must be secured in the box.

4th low, correct?

Yeah if you can't snap 'em loose at 40/60....I'm not sure going lower is gonna help ya. Are they brand new and super sharp still?

Yes I'm running 4Lo. Tires are on 2nd season. Don't know if I can post a video. All of them are on Facebook that were posted by a friend of mine. Thinking I just need to come off the clutch a lot faster.

I know you said stock front suspension on the front, but make sure it doesn't have lift coils or leveling blocks with stock length shocks on the front.

The coil springs are stock. I removed the leveling spacers a few years ago when I took the truck off of the street. The shocks are stock length.

Here is a pic until I can figure out how to post a video.

I would just bring rpm all the way up and launch it instead of trying to take off at lower rpm. At your power level you shouldn't have any traction problems off the line.

I have been leaving at 4500 and completely off the clutch after 3 or 4 seconds. In Indianola, on the race track, I bounced, was pulled back and left at 4000 and rode out the clutch a little further. I used to drive this thing unconsciously, it's so easy to drive. I must be overthinking.

3-4 seconds is a long time. How many feet is a better judge of how you are dragging the clutch but I would say get off the clutch sooner, definitely lower your tire pressure to about 15 and 40, and get the wheels spinning.
