Hi ,i am wondering if the stock Ram 2500 ,1998 differential can widstand 600 hp and 1000 f/p torque with my newly installed 36'' tires .....i'm effraid to snap the pinion or axels....Shoud i worry about that ?Thanks ....

I think either would be fine as long as you aren't trying to burn out of a gravel driveway onto black top.

dana 70U pinion = Garbage
axles will be fine.. they are strong

an 80, however, is indistructable, as far as the street is concerned..

lol I do know that in my experience the yoke on the dana 80 proved to be the weak link! I was accelerating with a John Deere 5525 in full trim on a GN behind me and hit a wet spot, tires broke loose and once they hit dry cement *BOOM* :hehe:

Thanks ,it is auto with all the works,billet input ,shift kit ,etc.
How do we know the model ?The tag says;

CH80D117
52069471AF
4.10 606095-4

Just to give you some info, On the front of the case mostly on the pass. side you should see some stamped numbers in the case. Either 70 or 80. That will tell you which Dana you have. If it is a 70 it will be a 70U.
