I've done my share of reading, and what I've found is that you need to:

-brace pitman/idler (done)
-fix the restrictive intake (I've read about some type of KB induction kit, but can't get any good info. What would you do to the intake?)
-2/7 injector pick (still unclear on this)
-Injector harness rub on alternator (done)
-has a hypertech tuner (should i stick with this or go PPE?)
-transmission is stock, it shifts smooth unless you stomp on it and then it seems to shift harder (Is this because of the defuel of the hypertech?) Should I leave it or transgo it if it will only have a mild tune?
-What is the best exhaust?
-Should you do the EGR blockplate?
-What is the PCV reroute?

daily driver back and forth to the office with good fuel economy and just enough power to make it fun/efficient to drive...nothing hot

I would use either the LBZ or Kodiak mouthpiece. You can do the equiv. of the KB kit for a lot less.

The PCV re-route takes the PCV hose from your mouthpiece and vents it to the atmosphere rather than back in through your turbo.

Definately do the EGR block, too.

I have ran a PPE for almost 2 yrs. I like it. Don't have any other experience w/any to compare. The transgo for the LLY will require dis-assembly of the trans. Might be the time to go w/a mild build and aftermarket converter.

Thanks Rod...I was under the impression that you should just get rid of the stock setup and put like an AFE on...does that work or do you still have to do the new mouthpiece? Are there any negatives to blocking the EGR? What is the best sounding exhaust?

I agree! The LBZ mouthpiece is the best $86 I ever spent on the truck that was a cheap easy mod.

EGR blocker and PCV re-route are cheap, easy and definately dont hurt things.

Keep the stocker intake too and spend some bucks on stuff that will actually help or make power such as the above.

I would sugest a PPE economy programmer for a good mix of fun/fuel economy and your trans will thank you.

I agree with all the above but I prefer EFI Live over PPE.

No transgo or converter - if you pull the trans, spend the money once and do it right.

I agree, but for the money it would be the better option I think.

If your gonna pull the trans do it right. Transgo is a band aid$.02

The stock set up is good to around 500HP from what I have heard. I am going to switch to the LBZ filter when I put the MP on. I will have to alter the MAP/MAF settings (Whichever it is) for the increased volume. What ever filter you run, see if you can seal it off from the under hood heat. There are aftermarket kits for the LLY airbox. Banks and Volant are easy to do too from what I have heard. If you do switch mouthpieces and intakes, it would be easier to order a LBZ intake. That will save some modification to the intake. The LBZ MP is longer.

I haven't heard of any negatives to blocking the EGR. It may be an emissions testing issue if you have to deal w/that in your area.

I have a MBRP exhaust on mine. I like the sound of it. It was on the truck when I bought it. I haven't compared the sounds of too many.
