I'm a ford guy, but i got into a dodge... I told my buddy i'd do his injector pump in his 02 cummins because it's the truck we take out to colorado every year elk hunting. His pump took half a shyt a couple years ago and he had the dodge upgraded lift pump put in... they said it would fix the problem, yeah right damage was already done. We picked up a used HRVP44 from a buddy of mine (only took it off to P pump his truck) and put it in along with the fass ddrp and lfpl(it was supposed to get a gauge but it came with a light instead and time was limited)- fairly simple project. Truck fired up and idled/ ran fine... first test run the low fuel pressure light would come on when you got into the throttle... k something is wrong. Before we could get back to the shop she died. bled system and got it running again, only now it has a miss on idle... put it in gear... no miss. This happened a few times( i Know not good) until I find out the dodge upgraded lift pump is not running now that power harness is now feeding the ddrp. So I hard wired the ddrp, plugged the factory upgrade back in, and the truck runs great, no more lfp light, but still has miss at idle, put a load on (in gear) and the miss clears up. Also it isn't as bad if it hasn't got to operating temp. It starts perfect when hot too... so timing is ruled out right? It threw a 1689 code (I think that was the code) cleared it and it never came back, I know this has to do with the IP but it hasn't come back. Could the couple of lfp runs have killed the new VP already? Also, both the parking brake light and warning light stay on but the fluid is full and the spedo works fine... any ideas? I had set the parking break on accident when i was crawling under the dash and i don't know when the last time the owner used it was... it didn't hang up though, could the parking brake switch have something to do with the warning lights? I'm away from home now but will be back in a couple weeks so i will not have immediate answers to anything i don't already know... looking for things to test when i get back. thanks- kane

I have a hrvp in my truck and it has the same miss at idle and not under load. It is a normal thing with the hrvp. As for the low fuel pressure are you still trying to draw fuel threw the factory upgraded pump? If so that is your issue.

yeah, still have the upgrade in there, gonna yank that when i get home and put the gauge in what do you use to take the place of the upgrade? DIY or get it from fass? they idle like they have a miss? it's not like a lope... it sounds like there's air in a line... but it can't be. Its fine with me if thats just the way it is, it just worried me that it didn't start to do that until we starved it.

If you still have the factory pickup that was their to start you can use that or install a draw straw or tank sump. Just do a search for either and you will have more info than you need. And ya its just the way they are. Mine will smooth out with just the a/c compressor on sometimes.

I got another one for ya'll, not to start a new thread about My scheid pump, which I bought back in 07'... I am only seeing about 55ish psi with 7x.012"s with a little 62/71.... and its cleaning up.... gate is clamped.... I am thinking the pump could be weak, but before I go buy a new pump I want to make sure its a weak pump

quadzilla Adrenline and fass 150/150 with about 15psi and around 12.5-13 at WOT

Wait, was the wire tapped on yours?

yeah it's been tapped since I bought it new.... but its been tapped so many times I broke the wire a while back, so I soldered it back.... No codes, no change in running nothing

its not like its defueling, its like all its got.... I've ran a bunch of injectors lately and all were around 50psi in OD.... now these are the largest I've ran and they are hitting about 55ish.... not that I am looking for boost, just want it to be right..any help on some things I can check or things I might be missing would help....

its cleaning them up to a steady haze...

That seems like the pump is not fully fueling. As in the ECM isnt commanding full fuel from it. Could be the pump. My truck would clean up 7x10's with an hx35 when th MAP sensor was reading 0 constantly
