I'm a ford guy, but i got into a dodge... I told my buddy i'd do his injector pump in his 02 cummins because it's the truck we take out to colorado every year elk hunting. His pump took half a shyt a couple years ago and he had the dodge upgraded lift pump put in... they said it would fix the problem, yeah right damage was already done. We picked up a used HRVP44 from a buddy of mine (only took it off to P pump his truck) and put it in along with the fass ddrp and lfpl(it was supposed to get a gauge but it came with a light instead and time was limited)- fairly simple project. Truck fired up and idled/ ran fine... first test run the low fuel pressure light would come on when you got into the throttle... k something is wrong. Before we could get back to the shop she died. bled system and got it running again, only now it has a miss on idle... put it in gear... no miss. This happened a few times( i Know not good) until I find out the dodge upgraded lift pump is not running now that power harness is now feeding the ddrp. So I hard wired the ddrp, plugged the factory upgrade back in, and the truck runs great, no more lfp light, but still has miss at idle, put a load on (in gear) and the miss clears up. Also it isn't as bad if it hasn't got to operating temp. It starts perfect when hot too... so timing is ruled out right? It threw a 1689 code (I think that was the code) cleared it and it never came back, I know this has to do with the IP but it hasn't come back. Could the couple of lfp runs have killed the new VP already? Also, both the parking brake light and warning light stay on but the fluid is full and the spedo works fine... any ideas? I had set the parking break on accident when i was crawling under the dash and i don't know when the last time the owner used it was... it didn't hang up though, could the parking brake switch have something to do with the warning lights? I'm away from home now but will be back in a couple weeks so i will not have immediate answers to anything i don't already know... looking for things to test when i get back. thanks- kane
