So, I think I just had bad luck, a few times in a row. :) My luck looks like it's changed.

i've tried and tried and will try one more time here shortly, but I can not get a .0025 feeler gauge under that bottom puck... as you may recall from previous threads my last housing here I could get up to .014 under there with the gate set at "50" psi.... Back 3 cylinders ran at a different drive pressure then the first 3....

So, with luck this new shinny new housing will go on with out a hitch. Stand by for real time exhaust housing dramma! :)

I thought you had narrowed it down to the cam?

Nope. I still need to check the valve train to see if the lash moved. That will be a Friday thing before I test and tune some more out on the cruise strip. I'm still puzzled as to my iron ware counts. I'm planning a cam and 66 wheel for next spring as well as some traction bars and tires. ;-)

It's final though, problem solved. ZERO flutter, even when the gate is opening. The motor is SUPER smooth now on acceleration. I can hold 40psi on a steady accelerate with rock sold stability in the gauge. The "chevy gasser POP POP POP glasspack" sound is G O N E!!! w00t!

Few more things to check out, Tune in the gate a little more. Based on the fact that I'm light on rail pressure in 6th (21,000 to 23,000 between 2500 and 3200), I don't think I'll get much over 50psi. twisting the gate to make 60psi of drive and still only 50 on the boost. I think I'll find that 1:1 and leave it be.

The interesting thing is in 5th and lower I can peg the rail gauge, I make 52 drive and 48 boost about in 5th. So I pondering the lack of pump here with 180hp injectors is my problem. I'll see what software 7 does for me in the boost and rail department too. bump up the torque management too back to mild. I haven't been much over 100mph either, tomorrow I'll bump into 3600 in 6th on my way to/from the data center

Spool up is a tad faster too. even way under 10psi. things come up quicker.

I did manage to forget to put the c-clip on the waste gate arm.... argh. It should hold for a few hundred miles tho.

My lack of fuel is going to be addressed next week. However I won't have it for dyno day this saturday., Looking for 675hp.

So far I'm happy! I did a good beating on things for the past few hours and toyed with the gate. no issues.
