Hunting for gears

I have a 2000 Ram 4x4 that likes hunting between 3rd/ 4th, noticibly on the steep short hills that are in our city.
My question, is ther some adjustment that I can
make on the TV cable to prevent the up shifting to soon.

Try locking out OD. I never let my truck go into OD until I'm gonna be cruising above 60mph just for that reason.

I do keep my OD locked out untill I go on the hiway (above 60 mph) Its the intown driving part of it.I guess I will have to start pulling it down to 2nd so I quit getting *****ed out for the cloud of black coming out the back when it does it. If I could get it to shift later would solve the problem.
