I've done some looking on HTT's site today and saw their 3.5 compressor upgrade... basically a 60mm wheel and housing for 400

The truck is mostly stock aside from the basic's afe intake/ 4inch exhaust/southbend single disk/ quadzilla adr/ and an AD150

question is would the hybrid be a decent set up for what ive got now?
Its mostly a daily driver that tows my trail toys on occasion.

I've had one for several years now. Not a bad upgrade but if you want to do a little extra work buy a he351 which has a bigger exhaust wheel and swap it on. You could probably sell your stock turbo and come out pretty good on a swap like this.

well i thought the he351 only had the 9 cm exhaust housing? i know the flow pretty well though... my thought behind the hybrid was id only be payin roughly 500 for a rebuilt hybrid from HTT

I think finding a used HE for that price alone would be a challenge

I picked up an he for 275 shipped, they are out there, just gotta find em, the 35/40, would end up about a 60/60/12 whereas the he351 would be a 60/60/9, but you have to spend some cash to get the turbo matched to the pipe.. but the he would have a stronger shaft..

your call, I am pulling my 40 to put on the 351 for better spool over a 16cm exhaust housing.

but with the HE having only a 9cm exhaust housing wouldn't that cause EGTs to shoot up?

port the wastegate, I wouldn't say it will cause higher egt's but I haven't put mine on yet so I have no first hand knowledge.. I just want my spool time to be nothing so this beast will either go our spin tires.

the H351 is a 60/60/9 but the exhaust housing flows really well... they have guys making 420+ on a HE351 with a little grinding work on the waste gate port..

After looking around and seeing what it takes to transplant the he351 its going to be alot cheaper to just go through HTT and have them mod my HX35..

its a bolt in deal where as the He has fitment issues along with having to make a new charge pipe and a new down pipe to make it fit

Port the wastegate hole out on it if there is room and drill a hole in the divider to wastegate all six cylinders. The 35-40 ain't a bad turbo. I built the one I have in like 03 and it's still going strong.

love my he351. I push it harder then any stock turbo should be pushed and it keeps on trucking. im not sure how long it will last but time will tell... it did 467 hp in bowling green
