HX40 backplate on HX35

I tried searching but maybe I was usimg the wrong tremanoligy. I have to redo my exhaust to fit the up coming rear suspension and would like to be able to use an hx40 downpipe. So will an hx40 backplate fit my hx 35? Ive seen yes and no searching google...
