First off I hate hearing people call compound setups twins, they're not twins. But my question is about running two similar turbos. I have a H1CW off a 94' and a HX40W 8 blade off a "C" model Cummins and the HX40 has a 4" exhuast and when ran as a single was slow to spool but made around 40 psi and ran about 1200 F. The H1C would spool fast but would generate high exhuast temps. I was wondering if anyone has ran a compound setup with these two turbos. I figure it might spool slower than one but would definatly put out some pressure.

1. Does anyone know what to expect out of a turbo setup with a H1CW and HX40W?

IMHO (having built many different set-ups) it would SUCK. turbos are way too closely matched. An HX55 would be as close to the H1c as you should go.

x2 Those two turbos are way to close in size to warrant the build. Look into building a compound set with your H1CW and an HT3B...bunch of guys have built them and they work great. As soon as I get the funds I'm building a set using a 3b for my truck.

But I bet when you call them twins people know exactly what you mean Forrest...
