hx82 on ebay

to heavy not the right housings and expensive to get the right housings. Would be nicer with aluminum housings IMO.

I was going to add that most of those with the iron comp. covers have the Ti. wheel in them, thats the whole reason for the cover so when the wheel explodes it doesnt exit the housing.

The last one that I had with the iron compresso cover had what looked to be like a galvanizing coating on the compressor wheel?
 
Anybody know some of the other peices of equipment these were put on? The last couple I had were off of KTA cummins and one was off a gen set but the last owner was not specific on model etc...
 
I think mostly the later QSK models, I dont think anything else had them, I looked at even the QST30 and it has twin HX60s.

No other engine manufacturer in the USA uses holsets being that they are owned by cummins.

On those iron coversm they where sposed to have a higher pressure ratio wheel in them too.

Correct me if im wrong but don't a lot of other engine manufacturers used re badged hoslet turbos? I've seen a couple volvo turbos on ebay that were I believe hx55's

Yep i put one on a QSK19 that was in a chipper and one on a crane....and have seen some on gens.

I was jus thinking about Detroit/MAN, Caterpillar, and Mack. Sometimes I forget about volvo in the trucks.

Volvo used holsets. We have a few of them laying around here with Volvo right in the castings.
