If you show up at a sled pull with intentions to pull why do show up with out a pulling hitch of some sort. I don't care if its a clevis in a drop receiver, just bring something.

I know everyone can't afford a nice pre-made set up, or have the ability to make an adjustable hitch that can be set to the perfect height etc. but at least show up with something!!!!

I have been to 6 pulls this year and at 5 of them I have lent my hitch out to guys who show up without one at all. 4 of those times I was waiting in the staging lanes sweating bullets trying to find my hitch when I am just 2 trucks away from pulling. And to top it off, most of the time its guys I've NEVER even met that come up to me and ask for it.

If you are going to show up to PULL....have what you need to PULL!!!!!!!!

While I can commend him for being so nice- It's the thoughts of being put out of competition that bother me.....:bang

From now on I use a locking pin and leave the key at home...if someone needs a hitch...SORRY ABOUT YOUR LUCK BUDDY

True That :poke:

Halsey,

You are the king of one word posts...

TJ,
You are right... seems like a lot of people want to show up and pull without doing any of the prep WORK. I would just say no if you aren't done competing at that event, if your done pulling and feeling generous, then maybe let them borrow it.

Don't risk missing your chance to pull because someone else is too lazy or cheap to come prepared... $.02

Chris

i could make a couple extras and take to each pull, sell them to the guys who think its ok to be a retard and come unprepared.

if you are planning to go to the park for a cookout do you show up without a grill and then ask everyone around until someone lets you borrow theirs?

Hey TJ can I borrow your hitch for the pull @ Cecil tomorrow nite?:hehe: The PREP work is half the fun anyway, especially when you try to get hitches and weight brackets made just a couple days before the pull. How did you do Saturday nite?

4th place and broke the output shaft on the 241 tcase.

if i get my truck fixed by tomorrow afternoon then i will be at the cecil fair watching, and i would not mind you pulling with my hitch, but you will need to lock it in, i dont want someone borrowing it from you and turning my hitch into the slutty girl everyone passes around :hehe:

glad to see you got your humor back. nice to blow steam once-in-awhile isn't it?
anyway i know what you mean, i've only pulled 3 times and built my own hitch. last friday i was asked if someone could use it. i said know cause if you break it i won't have one..

I feel the same way, I have only pulled once, and built my own. and purposely built it to bolt in through the hole in my bumper for a ball, and slide into the receiver. So, once it is in, its there untill I go home, no easy in and out deal.

As I see it more than likely its guys who came with no intentions of pulling. Prolly just there to watch and someone talked them into pulling? In this case they weren't ready to pull just got suckered into it.

Nobody asks to borrow my hitch, I've been known to break it in the past though..... :hehe:
