identify converter

Hello.
Have a converter that i was told was Art Carr built. Have tried to mail Art Carr but no answer. Just wonder if its some way to identifiy a converter, and the quality on it? It seems to be very rare that the converter builder mark them.

Posting a pic might be helpful. Different builders use different colors (not always) but that can help narrow down the possibilities.
