Once more I find myself hangin out with you 12v guys hoping to soak in some information, lol.

I am currently looking around for a p7100 pump, so I can send it to a guy to modify it to fit my dt360 project.
Now I find out these p7100 pumps are getting hard to find for cheap.

What about import pumps?

I would have a hard time believing none of these pumps have made it over here already, but anyone actually know they have one, and have anything to say?

If it seems like a really good deal, it probably isn't. Asian diesel fuel injection parts is a synonym for junk.

If you watch Craigslist, eBay, or on here you can pick up a good running pump for a reasonable price (typically $500-750ish). Just verify the part number is what the seller claims before you purchase it and make sure it came off a good running engine within the last couple months.

I'm pickin' up what your puttin' down, I know a lot of that stuff is garbage, but there is also cummins spec pumps that actually get used there on cummins engines.

Cummins 3.3l engine is supposedly the most reliable engine cummins ever had, and it's a re-branded komatsu for something, designed in japan or china or something.
The bad thing with china is that so many factories clone stuff and use junk specs and crappy material, so it's to know which factory is legit and building them proper.

Does anyone in north america actually build those inline injection pumps anymore for anything? or are they just all rebuilds now?

Yes I should have phrased that a little differently, but you understood what I was saying. I don't know of any way to verify the quality of anything before it is in your posession and anything I have come across has been a knockoff/terrible copy of a bosch part. From aluminum housings with poor casting/machining to b&p that seize before making it off a test stand.

All the Bosch pumps are german engineered and were all built in spain and italy to the best of my knowledge. Everyone over here in the states just modifies and rebuilds what was originally built over the pond.

Are the 7100 pumps off an 8.3 the same. If they are I know where to find one.

The 8.3L pumps have the oil fed through the front cover on the engine, right above the pump pilot. Plug that hole and feed the side like a P24v and it would be the same other than the lack of treaded bosses on the side for the throttle linkage.
