Injection pump question....

I've been having some serious problems with my Edge J/A. I install it, it runs great for a month or so and then stops fueling out of the blue. I send it to Edge they tell me its fine, re-download the software and send it back. Then I go through the entire process again. When the Edge is off the truck it runs great. I've got 110 hp DDP injectors, Airdog 150, BHAF, and torque converter so it's still quite a bit better than stock. My question is, do I have a bad injection pump. If so, why does the truck run good without the chip and with the chip for a certain amount of time. Even when the chip doesn't fuel like it should, it still doesn't run bad, just not like it should. I've never had an issue of the truck running bad, just not like it should with the chip. If anyone has any insight, I'd greatly appreciate it.

Starting with the basics, have you checked fuel pressure or changed fuel filter lately? Make sure fuel is in good supply and start looking at other things. Are all your wires run neatly and nicely, tucked out of harms way? Are you 100% sure your pump tap wire is a good solid connection? I used silicone around mine to keep moisture our... Often thought about soldering on an extension wire to make pump tap much easier.

Yessir, fuel pressure is good. It normally stays between 18-22, lowest I've ever seen it was 15 and I was running low on fuel. I haven't checked the fuel filter yet, but I will since you mentioned it. The reason I haven't done so yet is because the Airdog hasn't been on the truck very long up unto this point, but you're right it needs to be checked. Wires are ran good and yes I'm sure the wire tap connection is good. I didn't solder it like you mentioned, but I checked it on the Edge chip itself when it stopped fueling each time so I don't think thats the culprit.

I'm gonna check what you mentioned about the filters and, assuming they are good, do you think I should install the new J/A that Edge sent out. This is the last hope from them, if it doesn't work they said I'm out of luck.

What level was your Edge on when it stopped fueling and what RPM where you at? Does the monitor turn off along with not fueling or just not fueling?

i would recommend a stealth cover... a more positive install than the vampire clip... if the connection is the problem... of course solder is like $.15

I was wondering about those covers. They work pretty good? I dont understand how the connection to the wire works.

The first time it happened the Edge was on 5x5 and it would kick in an out while driving. When it would quit fueling a zero would show up in the top right hand corner of the screen that shows the power level. The next time it happened I had it on level 5x5 and it ran great when I came home one night then the next morning it wasn't fueling. The monitor works fine every time, just no power.

I'm beginning to wonder if I should try soldering the wire tap this time around and see if it fixes my problem.

put one on my buddies truck and i have one to put on mine.
it replaces the cover on the vp and a sharpened set screw snugs into the terminal. your tap wire attaches to the screw and done.. wont void warranty on pump either!

I'd do that before I started throwing parts at it. Or a stealth cover for some $$. Ive seen more random and hard to diagnose problems from connections just like yours. IIRC are they called scotch lock? TST says in their installation manual not to use them.
