By looking at these injectors, have these been drilled out/modified/made larger???

The part number on the nozzle is DSLA 145 P 477 which Google states is the stock 215hp injector.

I took them apart was to clean and inspect them. The P.O. said they are custom 420 injectors.. LOL I wanted to see for myself. I won't believe that till you all prove the P.O. correct! It'd be GREAT if he was telling the truth!!!!

What say you??? :Cheer:

Your going to need a pin gauge to see if they were edm'd

But I agree with snedge

Wow no kidding?? That's encouraging!

I wonder if a local place would sell a pin gauge, I'll do a search.

If you own one, where'd you get it?

It sucks buying parts from people that claim one thing and they turn out to be another. Or a vehicle itself. Bought some "60hp" injectors once, turned out to be stock 180s. Bought a truck with a slight oil leak. Had a hole in the block.

Probably getting paid at work to post this from my D1

Even if I find out how large the holes are.. Do you guys know where I could reference that data to? An injector pin hole size chart maybe?

Measure the size, then post the measurement. For example, some common injectors are five .016" holes, referred to as "5 by 16's" or "5x.016".

Look to be in stock trim to me. DSLA depicts VCO, DLLA depicts sac type, P number is the designation 477 being the only 0.010" used in Dodge applications.

On another forum, I was told you were the man to speak to about injectors so I'm glad you chimed in.

Thanks, I'll report back when I measure them.

Just trying to figure out an easy way to measure them that DOES NOT involve ordering a set of pin gauges!

Any ideas of a measure tool I can buy locally? I might email relentless diesel :ft:

I confirmed something this past weekend thanks to a fellow cummins owner. My truck has stock 215hp injectors (5x.010).

I knew it!!! Lol... Thanks guys for all the input!

Never seen that before, usually it's an eye ball guessing game, good to see someone return with results. Anyone got a source for a set of "pin gauges" in the .008-.020 sizes for checking injectors? I wouldn't mind double checking mine and a few other injectors around here.

so someone sold you a set of stock injectors and told you they were 420 horse? LOL

I'm glad you brought that up! These injectors were on the truck when I bought it.

Before buying the truck, the owner and I were communicating constantly because I was asking question after question.

When I test drove it, I could tell it was completely stock with a few AFC adjustments. So right then I was 99% sure they were stock injectors despite the owners claims.

So the point of this thread for me to see if I was right or not lol.

Anyway, I got the truck for under $2,000. I have a little build thread in my sig. :rockwoot:
