I am in the market for a set of nozzles for my 03. Called exergy yesterday and was suggested that with 100k miles that it would be best to get all new injectors with my nozzles. Was quoted around 3,000. Would it be in my best interest to go that route, or just get new nozzles and put them on myself?

I would have your injectors tested, they may be alright but they may need replacing. Stick with exergy their equipment and product is beyond amazing, they are expensive but you get what you pay for when it comes to injectors.

I hear nothing but great things about exergy. I just don't want to have to spend an extra 2k if I don't really have to. The truck runs great now.

find a close shop that will test the injectors, if they are good i can reference you a local shop to buy and assemble nozzles

I sent Shane a text. Waiting for him to call me back at the moment. Has anyone installed good nozzles and had negative results? I just dont see a lot of people putting 3k in their injectors to upgrade the nozzles. Wouldn't I be able to notice if something was wrong with the injectors now? How many guys have sent their injectors out of their nice running motor to find out that they aren't working correctly? I am all for doing things the right way and spending the extra cash to make sure it's right but I also want to know for sure that it's with out a doubt what needs to be done, rather than waste the money.

Don't short cut it. You will pay again later. I did a WOT blast the other day with my stock injectors with only 87,000 miles on them. Well, I am losing rail pressure when the truck gets warm now. RP at idle was 6500-7000. Now the rail pressure when warm is 4800 to 5400. Oh well, time to pay.

What does that mean when you have low rail pressure when it's warmed up?

From all the reading I have done I have gathered that if you buy genuine Bosch nozzles from a reputable dealer that has flow tested them you can expect great results. I have heard of guys melting pistons, but mainly because they bought junk nozzles, or their injectors were hanging open. I just figured that there would be telltale signs before something like that would happen. I don't know about you guys but I just can't afford to throw 5 grand into dual cp3's, injectors, and studs.

It means my return flow is more than likely high causing this issue. Injectors get hot and clearances expand. I just changed the fuel filters today and my RP has come back up to normal when the engine is cold. I will know in a few minutes, going out for supper, if I still have an issue. Probably will.

Soon as the truck got warm again, the RP dropped back down. Time to get them upgraded.

If you cheap out on CR injectors, you will melt a motor down sooner or later. And be very careful of who you let thest them. A lot of places that claim to test CR injectors don't even know that their equipment inst capable.
