So im getting ready to go on a trip to Pennsylvania and trying to get my truck set up as best as possible for mpg's. Im working on getting my afc back in working order (the rubber is ripped). Anyways I just put in contagious 5x16 sac injectors set at 300bar. I know driving with a heavy foot it will get worse mpg's then with the old 215's, but my question is driving easy on the highway will it still get around normal (16-18mpg). I would do the research myself and test the mpg's, But my speed/odometer resently quit working so until i get it working again there isnt away for me to check it. So thanks in advance for any help!

I ran 12v injectors at 300bar and I found that the low end smoke lessened, but the top end power was a little lower also. I think this shortens the injection event a little since it takes that much longer till it pops.
Fuel economy was a -little- better. Not much. But then I have had other issues with my setup that may have prevented a larger gain.
Ive been trying some 7x.010 injectors and theyre about as clean, without the impact on top end power. But they may have issues at high boost. Not 100% certain on that.

Im going to try to check my DV's also. I was told they were stock 131's when I bought the engine. But with my set up and the 215 injectors, the hx52 would still have a heavy haze on a WOT. Is this normal or not? Because I figgered that turbo would have no problem cleaning up stock injectors?

I thought there wasnt much difference between .131 and .181.. 10cc? .131 comes with the 160hp pump. 215 pump are .181 I think.
Is the turbo completely spooled when you see haze at WOT?

Ya its a 95 160hp engine but I had a set of 215 injectors in it for a while. And yes that was with it makeing 48-50psi. I just figgered the 131's would be the restriction for fueling right now. And with these new 5x16's i understand they will be smokey with this turbo down low and without the AFC. They idle clean, But good grief i dont care if you idle away from a stop its totally impossible to not blow a good size cloud. Thats why im wondering if it has differant DV's in it. Are there part # on the valves to clarify what they are? Ive never done DV's before.

The turbo is fully lit by 1900rpms. So its not like its a laggy pig. And I plan on bumping my timming up to around 20-21 once I get back, because i know with that my HG is on borrowed time. But im hoping that will make a little differance.

Well I just got home from PA and thought ide just let you guys know, I got between 18-20mpg and thats in the mountains also, so im really happy! And even put a butt woopin on a built up v8 ford ranger while I was there lol
