I have a buddy with a 2000 Cummins that's looking to upgrade his stock injectors. He needs to know what to look for and what other upgrades will have to be done to accommodate the injectors. He's looking for upgrades that won't require any fuel mods. Thanks in advance for any info:D . Traci

How big over stock?

If its a manual, he will need a clutch. If it is an automatic, he will need internal work and probably a converter.

"Fuel mods." ?

Any VP44, stock or not, needs a lift pump fix. There are just too many options out there now, and no excuse for running an un-reliable stock lift pump. He can spend the dough on a FASS, or go with something else. But in any case, you need a lift pump.

The stock tuning of the VP44 only puts out 36% of what the pump is capable of producing. You need a wire-tap fuel box to get more out of it.

IMHO, injectors are down the list of mods. GAUGES GAUGES GAUGES first, then open the exhaust and intake up.

With a 5spd yes, with the 6spd no, seen many a 4500 clutch hold an EZ and injectors. The stock clutch used with the 5600 sucks azz.
