Examining and comparing the 5.9 to the 6.7l supply tubes, they do have exactly the same geometry of the tightening area where they connect to the injector body.

Also the length from that mating surface to the area where the fastener is contacting the supply tube is exactly the same.

The difference is the inner bore diameter and the outer diameter of the supply tube. As long as it fits into the cylinder head bore it shouldn´t make a difference which version is used.

The F1831 number designates that it is a Bosch part with the number F00FJ01831.

Why the number variation? Perhaps Cummins made a deal with Bosch so Cummins can put their own number on it to give them the option to sell it as a Cummins part.

But it definitely is made by Bosch and it is the tube for the 6.7l Cummins which fits both engines.

Hope this helps!

Thank you!

What about the material they are constructed out of? I've noticed the new style seem to be made out of the same shinier steel as the updated 5.9 bodies and 6.7 injectors. Always wondered if using the updated crossover tubes on the older dark grey bodies would cause a sealing issue due to material differences?

The material of the 5.9 tubes compared to the 6.7 tubes is indeed a bit different. The 6.7 tube material is slightly harder than the 5.9 tube material. The difference is because of the higher pressures the 6.7 supply tubes are designed for vs the 5.9 tubes. 1800 bar for the 6.7 compared to 1600 bar for the 5.9.

The newer material increases high pressure durability as well as tightening at higher pressures.

As to why the difference in outward appearance, like the later injectors the tubes are now silanized and not phosphated.

As per ShopKey both the 5.9 and 6.7 final torque values are 37 ft lbs.

Thank you!

Why the huge price difference? the 5.9s are 26.00 each and the 6.7s are 46.00 each?

If I try to order the older number from Cummins they are automatically superseding to the new number. They are more money, because they are more better.

Are there any super secret body mods being done to add to the added price? Are they machined by mole people in the earth's core, then packages by the last of the Gelflings? That would explain the price increase, rediculous stories.
