Injectors before tuner?

I am just going to copy and paste my various questions from Cummins forum in hopes of getting some answers.

Is it worth doing injectors before a tuner? or will it just suck because I don't have a boost fooler and what not?

Maybe I should buy injectors and a lesser expensive timing box for now and get another tuner later. . . .

More thoughts on that idea? Edge EZ and a quad or something? Does an EZ provide as much timing as everything thing else, like a smarty or a juice?

Does the XTZ provide the same timing as a smarty would? Or and edge juice?

I can get an new xtz for just over 300 bucks, but I don't want to keep buying boxes for my truck, I want one to keep and maybe stack, but I want all the timing possible too.

Thanks for the help guys! I am going on a 3k miles long trip in June, but don't know what box I want, so is there a good cheap box, or does anyone have a good cheap timing box for sale that could go with some injectors?

"Trying to be nice here"

We need to know what your truck is, dually, non dually, what gears, what trans, what you want to do, what you have already done to the truck, ect.

lol my bad I forgot I haven't filed any of that out on this forum

01 qc sb 5.9 a/t 2500 4x4 3.55 I play with the truck in the summer/tow and I plow with it in the winter, I work it hard in the winter.

I currently have a raptor 150 and 4" MBRP that's about all I can think of.

its good to see you over here, you can check out the for sale section also

Auto? Buy a Comp box, smoke the tranny, build the tranny, buy injectors....

It really depends on your overall goals for the truck.

If you are just looking for a mild increase in power, a set of RV275s and an EZ is a nice combo.

No, I want a stop light racer lol I need it to be a solid truck, be able to plow for 24 hours straight without a problem.

Truthfull I want to put down 500/1000 without skipping a beat. Later on down the line I will probably do twins, larger injectors, and a tubular header.

So how would 100 horse injectors, edge comp, and gauges be? What boxes can you run with the edge comp? Are they good boxes? the edge comp? How are they adjusted since they don't have the attitude?

And after all of that is done, I might cam it. . . I've got a thing with throwing cams in every motor I've built so far, but I don't think the cost to power ratio is quite worth it at this stage

100's and a comp will fry your trans in a week. Leave the comp on its own, it mounts in the cab and has buttons you mash to make adjustments. Juice is the same thing with digital gauges.

You need gauges period. Screw the header and the cam. When you pull the head to O-ring it, install a cam then.

150hp injectors
Comp or Juice
Pick up an HX35 and throw an HT3B under it for you twins and enjoy.

Well, I am hoping that I can get by the a converter and a valve body. . . . hoping

So gauges, and a box, then converter and valve body, then injectors. . . . how's that sound for an order?

Still need to figure out a good stackable box

i think you own tract to having a good truck, if your like me its your daily driver also,

just for chits and giggles, whats your reasoning?

I like injectors first in his application as well. Injectors will follow the stock power curve, just more of it. Any of the timing boxes will bring on the power earlier. If you want a stock auto to hold up as long as possible, get 60-80 hp injectors and a boost fooler.
