input shaft swap from auto to man. 241dhd??

hey guys hope someone that has done this can help.. Im helping a buddy swap over his 96 dodge 47re to a nv5600 ,, he bought a kit from a junk yard and it came with a new input shaft for the t case. The problem I,m having is the bearing area on the 29 spline input is longer(the area were the bearing sits from the gear that goes into the planetaries to the snap ring grove). did they use a wider bearing or a spacer behind the bearing,, or did the give him a wrong input ?? say one from a 271 ,, i dont know it they would be close or not but it does go into the planetaries. thanks in advance
