Is anyone run a air to air and then a air to water, so the ata would be first inline after the turbo and then the atw would cool before going into the engine, would this be benificial?

I have an air to air cooler that I stole off an RV pusher that I was thinking about running in parallel with the stock intercooler(mount it infront of the stock one where the a/c condensor core was)...do you think that would be better than running a aftermarket one?

In general do most 2.8 classes allow air to water?

that would cause to many air flow restrictons just run a water to air intercooler with ice water pumping through it and I doint think there is a rule on water to air intercoolers

water/air i/c

turbonetics has them in the spearco name. check there website. has specs and sizes. i have one that i was going to use but decided to run a air/air for the street.

Well Ive got their cell. Dont know if I should give that out. I can get you fixed up if you need. But I think Daves Diesel gets them, Haisleys, Im sure plenty of others.

So the ata and the atw together are going to make too much restriction? Its a pulling only application...I was just thinking that the ata would cool the air somewhat and then the atw would cool on below ambient.

If I do go with an atw I was thinking about running the lines to a cooler (like the one we all keep our beers in) in the extended cab and fill it with ice and water, mount a pump underneath the cab somewhere and make the lines to the cooler detachable, maybe put a drain in the cooler for refilling of ice between runs. Where would a guy find fittings for the cooler, something that would seal the water in the cooler? Thinking about putting a separation in the cooler and running the "hot" water in one side top and run the cold pick up off the other side with the divider in the middel....just thinking out loud,
what about a pump?

Yes, my brother in law has 2 intercoolers from them, and in the latest diesel power their is a guy with one on a first gen.

How much of a iat drop did he see over the air to air? How much of a pressure drop is there? What truck is he running them in?

the frozen boost kit looks like a little brother to the one i fabbed three years ago, and when i had twins on I was running a w/a between chargers and air to air aftercooler

Worked fabulously and the difference with the w/a on or off was very noticable as in about 5 psi boost difference so dont say toooo much restriction unless you tried it yourself personally

Now I just run the w/a with the 66 single and it is still workin fantastic
