last night i found a lifter holder broken leting the lifter spin and mangle the lobe on the cam truck is 2007 international 7300 with a 466 just wondering if anybody else has seen or heard of this it only has 39000 miles and 3000 hours and cost 240000 i didnt buy it but the company i work for did can get pics up later
 
I have seen it happen in 6.0's before. Pretty sure it starts with a galled lifter and then those garbage plastic retainers shatter and let the lifter spin and and eat the cam lobe off.
 
these have a steal retainer dont see how it could break
 
I want to see a $240,000 IH 7300! It must have a $180,000 bed or body on it unless it's some kind of crane truck.
 
Hell Ive seen the steel locator pins on an ISL break and do the same thing
 
Yep, I had this happen twice on the 6.0, which is why it's officially gone!
 
If it has 3000 hours in 39,000 miles could it have idled to death?
 
Most of the buses took a dump around 70000 miles. But they have a ton of idle/ stop and go time.
