Figured I'd ask here to see if someone knows anything about a truck I'm looking to purchase for a hauler. I found a International 1400 6 passenger truck with air brakes and allison automatic. The only problem is it has the 9.0 litre International DV550 in it. Non turbo version. Anyone know anything about these that could give me a heads up before I go look at it?
Thanks

We have one in a 6x6 loader truck. Doesn't get ran long distances or very often but never had a major problem with it. Only the clutch and starter. They sound good, lots of white smoke on start up.

Run.... Fast.

That's what I'm afraid of. Hard to beat 1500 tho. It's to save wear and tear on the DD when I pull my puller. It's a D120 9 litre after looking at the vin number thru International. It also has a 5.29 rear end gear and a MT653 transmission. Anyone else with something possitive?....lol

Rod bearing issues, cracked heads and blocks, extremely low power output compared to fuel consumption.
If the body is in decent shape I wouldn't pass it up for that money though.
Drive it till it breaks or you are tired of poking around, then repower it with a dt466/md3060 from a salvage yard.

Thanks for the input Chris. Body is okay just has some rust on the front cab corners (under the cab) where every international seems to rust. I far as I can see no bubbles in the coolant when hot and oil pressure is at 80 psi cold and 60 hot idle.
