Just like the title says. Who's running aeroquip and what kind of luck have you had with it.

Also wondering if -6 is equal to 3/8's.

In some crazy scheme to actually make a profit they actually offer lebentybillion different hose types....

Any particular one that you have in mind?

Teflon lined SS braided...
Ruber lined SS braided...
Socketless...
Hydraulic...
AQP Pulse...
Startlite....

Those are just the ones that immediately come to mind.

I have run their rubber lined SS braided with their reusable ends for years with success.

And -6 is 6/16ths. So yes, 3/8ths.

I have used Earl and aero no problems.yes 6 is 3/8.Why dont you want #8?

i used A LOT of aeroquip on my ford. -6 is 3/8 and -8 is 1/2, that i do know.

ok "AN" hose is in derivitives of 16 so each hose size is so many 16th's ergo the n#8 is 8/16 or 1/2"

I have about a hundred or so feet of AN line on my truck for various and everything - wouldnt have anything else

Likeany other hose It does wear out though, and if you kink it it will leak sooner or later

Ive been using Aeroquip socketless hose on my fuel system for a while. It nice stuff and has been working great

Seems like the inner ID on the reusable fittings is just under stated diameter? An insignificant amount, but you asked.

I use the Teflon braided. So far so good.

On a side note check Ebay for "lots" of this hose. I found a box of mix and match pieces that was enough to do my whole system with a little left over for around $100. I was used on a nascar team that has to re-due there fuel/oil system every so often.

What fittings are you guys using to connect to fuel filter. Am I able to just use hose clamps and clamp it to the stock metal fuel lines?

For a fuel system, I would recommend the rubber lined SS over-braid. The pressure just isn't there to warrant #1, dicking with teflon lined hose when making them up, and #2 dealing with having to worry about kinking them during assembly/dissasembly, because we all know how often fuel line routing usually comes on and off during various engine work...

Secondly, no matter what the inner material used, if it's SS outer-braid, COVER it, or it will eat the sh*t out of everything it comes in contact with.... including YOU.

I use Protec sheaths, they work well.

And while it seems to work fine, Aeroquip doesn't recommend their socketless for anything running low pressure, say, less than 100 or so psi. Apparently without the pressure the hose isn't being bound into the barbs as well. However, if you've ever tried to remove hose from a socketless fitting without cutting the hose..... you understand why those having made up the hose aren't tooo worried about it....

:hehe:

Maybe this explains noisy lift pumps...air being pulled through the connection...just a thought.

Oh, yeah, I didn't say, but the socketless isn't to be used in suction, period. Even though I know how well they stay on the barbs, even I don't use the socketless in suction. Or the "Pushlock" if you want to talk Parker.
