I am going to be picking up my truck this afternoon from getting a cam installed. Obviously the valves will be lashed upon start-up, but i wont be able to chech/adjust them for 30+mi after the break-in...(dont ask why, its a long story), but I am wondering if any damage will ocour if the valve are not adjusted right after break in???

I fully intend on doing them once i get it to my shop but its a 25-30mi drive....any suggestions???

If the valves were set correctly at the time of installation, you will be fine with 30 miles. The reason I like to see them adjusted is that sometimes small pieces of the wooden dowels remain in the lifters. This gives you a false lash. After a few miles, any remaining wood is gone and you will get a true lash setting.
