Some gears have a hole in the back for engine position, some have a tone ring. Anyone ever swap them and have problems. I have a new one with a tone ring. I want to know if it will work in place of the gear without ring?
Anyone?

They should work fine, the tone ring is for the 24v's with Cam sensor and the ones with the small hole is a timing pin hole for a 12v

Strange thing is the cam came from a 24V. Not a 12. I'm thinkin' this on had a pickup on the crank not the cam ????????
