Pardon my ignorance on this but its time to get schooled a little better on this matter, due to the fact its my tranny isn't going to be with us much longer.

I have a 02 auto that is not feeling the best. It feels like my converter is shuttering. On top of that I'm white trash with no money :hehe:. So with that being said, what is a good setup for drag racing? Looking into sun coast but not sure.

I appriciate the help.

damn right your white trash! LOL I would just start calling around heath, call HTS, Goerend, Garmon, DTT, Suncoast, etc. and check out some prices!

Call Dave Goerend! He will be able to set you up with an awesome tranny! I just had mine built by him and it is the best tranny I have ever had the pleasure to drive! Much better than my last 3 DTT trannys!

Call Dave Goerend. I have his parts in my tranny, and some of you have seen the abuse I put it through. Great tranny, going on the 4 season of pulling with it.

ATS doesnt make a bad tranny neither. Billet input, new clutches, triple disk converter, upgraded valve body, and bigger tranny pan. Should be able to do some good drag racin for a long time.

I dreaded opening this thread, but it was like a car crash, I had to. I was half way expecting heath to be in drag.

I'd look in to goerend or DTT. Both build great tranny's. Suncoast is another good one as well. Or call up relentless diesel. Chris builds some good tranny's as well.

id call dave at goerend, he has great tranny. plus customer service goes a long way dave with help in any way he can. you wont go wrong with buying a goerend trans :rockwoot:

call either dave gorend, or i had redline diesel power build mine. I love it

Call everybody else first and get their prices....

THEN, Call Jeff Garmon and get his price...BUT, ask him to explain some of the extra's you get (secrets so to speak) that the others aren't doing....Trust me, You Can't go wrong here....

He can ship one direct to your door and the warranty is awesome!!

You know which end of wrench to hold Heath, get a master rebuild kit, converter and a built VB from Garmon. Pretty sure that you might accidentally know a fella or two who could guide you through the process.

Well I didn't read this and turned around and bought a VB from sun coast this morning. I think next will be a rebuild kit from Garmon. If he doesn't kill me for getting the sun coast VB. I have heard nothing but good about his products. My damn TC is in bad shape.

I bought the VB to try and save the tranny while I save up some extra cash. It doesn't slip or anything. The TC though :bang oh its bad :hehe:. Maybe a little line pressure could buy some time.

I'll be down at Jeff's tmrw so if you need to reach him for any reason, call his cell 404-557-4972 or my cell 404-791-6320.....You can pick his brain about whats best for ya......Now that they've got the converter shop up and going, he can custom build you one....

If the converter is slipping the tranny is toast and your on borrowed time. Don't install the VB with a slipping converter. All you'll end up doing is sending converter clutch in to the VB and then you'll have to break it down and clean it before putting it in your new tranny. Also, the guts of your tranny are probably slipping also. What I thought was just my converter slipping turned out to be 2nd, 3rd, and 4th gear along with my converter slipping.
