I know this subject gets beat to death but .... I can't anything except X company builds the trans . I need to know how tight are you guys build these . Clearence in the clutch packs? should I build them to the tight side of the Factory tolerences? what about end play? Reason I'm asking is I want to build it myself. I can go and build it to the factory manuals all day. Is there any little tricks to look for ? what about adding a friction and steel to each pack? I'm useing Raybestos Hi-energy frictions, stock steels, Hi-energy bands DPC single with a Garmon built VB. I don't push this truck hard but would like to play a little with it. Thanks for any help. I mostly lurk around here, this place is a wealth of info.

It's pretty simple. Call the folks that build them. Really.
Garmon, Georend, Tim Barber, Suncoast. Tell them what you want to do. I think you'll find they are all helpful. If they are able to supply the parts the level of helpful will go up.
