JB's Canadian Diesel Nationals, Aug 13th 2011

I know that...So you are saying Randy would have dq'd him? I don't know for a fact that he would have.

Track manager was there to meet him when he got his slip. They run a tight ship in Edmonton. No matter what you run you have to have a helmet. Also good idea to have an engine diaper, if you oil down the truck and don't have one it's a hefty fine, (was told $1000) plus the cost of the clean up if you don't have one.

If you win the class and are no legal (i.e don't make weight, or don't have the right equipment for the class you run and/or speed and it get's protested, you lose.) It has happened. Ask Josh.

If you run SS and expect to win the quick trucks will have to spot you closer to 2 second than 2/10's.:poke:

I thought you might have been tired from the travel. But I see you are in great form. Only 4hrs for me to go in the morning and about 6 for the kid.

The camera angle in that video is misleading.

Here's a screen capture from the video when its more perpendicular to the track. Looks like less than a truck length past the 330' mark.

God knows I wouldn't normally stand up for Dmitri, but he told me just before that pass that he was going for it, and I'm pretty sure he turned up the juice for that 9.99 pass as it was the first round of eliminations, and turned it back down for the following passes after he got the warning. He will have to answer when he get home, but to me the times and video of the pass looks right. Also what little wind that there was, was blowing right to left and slighty against the the trucks at you stood behind them. Very little wind at all.

Here is the first 9 sec pass Rob ever made in Max'd Out. It was 9.94, at 138.44 pass. Looks pretty damn close to what Dmitri did and tracks are pretty close to same elevation, Boise and Edmonton.

indeed, alot of tracks would of gave him the boot. I went 11.1 with no cage at firebird and was not given a warning

did they have a scale up there? i would think his truck is under 7300lbs or is that with driver?

I asked Dmitri about the run and he sent me this text....

"I hit the 80 jet right off of spool up and I was like hooollly ***....I knew the Dodge in the other lane was low 10s, so when I was out front I was hoping for low 10s too...when I pulled down the return road Torry with the 9 second Dodge and everyone came up and said welcome to the club...I said "what club?" and then thought about it for a second and freaked out."

That is almost verbatim. There was actually a large amount of correctly spelled words, so I know how much that pass meant to him LOL

Congrats Dmitri on running the #s. I definately think he could have easily backed that pass up with another 9. But like others have mentioned as I was congatulating him. I told him that his worst enemy (track manager) was walking towards him & was going to have a little chat with him!

Would like to congratulate all other competitors as well.
Thanks to Brett, Tate, Corey Mike, Randy & all others that helped trying to keep boost hoses/clamps on during the weekend, Would have never gotten my license without your help.
Special thanks to Shawn for the use of all his tie wire.....LOL!!

Thanks to all 2011 Sponsors as well, FASS fuels, Diesel Performance Convertors, Diesel Performance Specialists, Toxic Customs, Exergy, Isspro, Floor It, Colt Cams, Amsoil, Extreme Engine, Commercial Powertrain Solutions, NADP,

GOOD LUCK to all competitors at WORLDS.

All you guys running close to 9's should get your licenses & chassis certs so you can let 'er eat! Props to Dmitri for driving all the way there and racing!

Hopefully the weekend's carnage won't keep too many people from attending THIS weekend's race at Portland (Shameless Plug for the ISSPRO Pacific Coast Diesel Nationals)!

I didn't know Ss was running low 8 sec  LOL

I know this is a save face post Greg and I'll let you slide on it if you are willing to admit you had cranial rectal insertion on your "smoked the lights theory"? I totally agree with you about folks running a upturned exhaust. With a following wind it's really easy to smoke the lights if you don't have one on. See you in TOPEKA buddy if you have the cojones to make that long drive west. Don't worry, you won't fall off the edge of the world if you get west of the Mississippi.:poke:

Way togo Ken, you and greg at worlds. It would be a battle of the walkers. We can put the bottle on it lol

Thanks for the hug and kiss saturday night big guy. See you in a few weeks

Awesome event!!!! lots of good racing!!! I went 3 rounds sportsman elimination and then popped the head gasket on the old 4BT. Can't wait to do it again next year!!!

Great event! Thanks to our Canadian friends for the hospitality, even if it did lead to a pretty wicked hangover :lolly:

Too bad my junk decided to put water in parts of the engine that shouldn't have water in them. :nail: Oh well.

Jason, I believe it was somewheres around the 13.30's if I remember correctly

Just got back to the hotel. It was the first time the americans have experienced throwing coins at girls on stage wherein nothing. They had a blast. I have a feeling some people will have a hang over in the morning LOL

I think that was almost as much fun as racing hahaha, dimitri was going for distance with loonies.

...... new to this forum, i`m chad from Calgary.
