Can anyone tell me if the frame on a 97 ram 1500 is different from the 2500 ? Had a few say they are and a few people say there the same other than the suspension would really like to have this cleared up if possible thanks?

Well ive done a lot of searching and came up with several different answers just thought if i ask someone that had more knowledge about dodges or diesels in general that i would at least get an answer from someone that might want to help, not someone that just wanted to be a a$$hole and ack like a jackass ........i guess this site is no better than the rest of the wannabe forums , so good luck with becoming the best dickhead you can be f--kface!

Calm down francis and get your underwear out of a wad.

Try Cumminsforum.com. They can help you out more than we can.

no, the frames are not the same....put a cummins on a half ton frame and watch it twist itself in a pretzel.

Really mine hasn't twisted like a pretzel and I'm sure the many other halfton powered Cummins on here haven't either.

i dont see how. you're taking a frame built for a 300ft lb motor and slamming it with over 2 times as much torque. have you done any re inforcements? your truck looks pretty sweet i will say

Stop molesting this thread and go play with your chevy! 1/2 ton dodge frames are fine!

guess yall arent into launching a 700hp truck. which is the only reason i could see for wanting a cummins in a half ton....to go fast.

No reinforcements done to it. If I get crazy with it I'll probably back half. As of now it's a daily driver over 100 miles a day.

that makes more sense. i was thinking more from a racing standpoint, and if that was the case a regular half ton frame would not take the power of a diesel launching.

I don't see it being an issue with the stock frame. It was the same thickness and height as the 3/4 ton I parted for it. That's with my 1st gen.

Ok just wondering about that all i am gonna do with the truck is pull my boat to the lake probably won't drive the truck any farther than 400 miles a year. Got a good deal on a 12 valve and a nv5600 so just wanted to put it to good use plus like a diesel better than gas! So about the rough start just made me mad have done alot of reserch just couldn't find what i was wanting to know! Or maybe it wasn't what i wanted to hear........lol
