Did a search but couldn't find any help? Can someone point me in the right direction? Pulled the throttle cover off my 99 & the cable has a lot of slack in it. How do you adjust them?

47re doesnt have a kickdown cable.

Maybe we need to call it a throttle pressure cable?
There is a clip on it that is a little tough to get off the first time, if you are not familar with it.

Do this, snap the cable end loose, then squeeze the housing to remove it from the bracket. Now you can pull it up and get a closser look at it. It is spring loaded so remember where the 'tit ' is. Pul it out some and put it all together again to see if it is close, or what it needs.
I like to remove the slack so it moves instantly with the throttle. ( this may be a little too much for you and your set-up, so find where you like it.
It is important for it move with the throttle because of the Cummins torque.

My 99' won't shift out of first at WOT, does that mean I need to loosen it up some?

IIRC the correct adjustment on the TV cable is to have 1/16" of slack in the cable when the throttle is in the idle position.

Dave Goerend has always told me to make it move instantly with throttle pressure.

I may be wrong but whenever I pull all the slack out of mine it makes first gear shift at like 2000-2200rpm.

TV cable doesnt effect shift points. just line pressure. when my trans was starting to slip i removed the cable and zip tied it wide open.
