LDA acceleration smoke control

Hmm. I haven't heard the term before, but I'd have to guess aneroid fuel control housing on top of the pump that boost references the rack travel limit?

Thanks for the response. The P7100 is on My E7 Mack ,650hp @ 2300rpm. The motor is in my workboat.

It should be the silver can on the front of the pump that is used as a rack stop. also called the puff cylinder.

The LDA is another term for the AFC, or aneroid. I was involved with a lobster boat project that included an E9 Mack with 4 chargers. Est 1500-2000hp It was a thrill ride to say the least, 60mph on a 38ft working lobster boat is nuts.

In Europe AFC lever is called : smoke control lever

It goes in at the same place as are rack stop. Pretty much a mini air cylinder. It screws in the end of the pump with a plunger. There is a regaulator in the manifold that senses boost pressure that determines how much air pressure to give or take from the air cylinder. Also has shims inbetween the plunger body and the pump that you can put in to get it some more bottom end fueling. Pretty much a Mack way of a AFC.
