I'm planning to instal a ATS propane injection kit on my truck. What do you guys think about it ? Is it good or no ?!!

HISSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS.................................BOOM!!!!!!!!!! That was on a 95 ford with a bullydog system. Regulator went south and they wouldn't stand behind it. It blew the compressor off the side of the turbo and pushed the firewall back a little on the driver side. Gave me a little concustion as well as stopped traffic in the northbound lane. I was heading south. Propane is for BBQ only as far as im concered.

I ran propane on an emissions dyno for a few hours. The fun thing with propane is that it's a gas so you get to use a flow regulator instead of jets and solenoids. We were passing quite a bit of propane right through a stock engine; after a point it just turns into HC emissions and causes eyes to water.

Propane is slightly more resistent to knock than methanol is, and easier to put in. The fact that it's easier to put in makes it easier to put in too much, though.

I ran propane on my truck a few years ago, saw decent power/mileage increases (not enough to justify the cost of the propane) EGT's would get pretty hot, so I couldn't tow with it. I think i was running a comp box back then. About a month later my head gasket started leaking coolant @ the back, propane kit went in the trash!

Depending upon your mods you could see little to no up gain. The more highly moderd trucks don' gain. Ear as much. You also have to worry about detonation and increased timing due to a fuel being drawn into the engine vs injected. Headgekets can hate this.......

I installed an ats propane kit and water meth on a customers 03 6.0L. When the propane was on the truck was slow to light the turbo and high egts. With water meth on the truck would spool very quickly and light the tires when it caught boost in 2wd. The propane was just to much extra fuel on top of the big injectors and tuner. Its still on the customers truck but he doesn't use it.

I don't see why anybody would use propane or methanol on an engine with sufficient fueling capabilities, like a P-pump or common rail anything.

If somebody has something to gain by fumigating fuels, it'd be somebody with a crappy injection pump that tops out at 400 HP worth of fuel...

Thanks guys !!! Now Ill tell the clown who try to sell that to me that he can try to rip off an other clown !!! :kick:
